On February 12, 2024, Consul General Somjai Taphaopong, along with Ms. Ketsuree Vijaranakorn, Senior Director of the Thai Trade Center, held a discussion with a group of new-generation Thai entrepreneurs. Some of them actively participated in the Thai Fashion Runway hosted by the Thai Trade Center - New York as part of the Megatrend Setter Project, promoting Thai fashion and lifestyle products on February 10, 2024, during New York Fashion Week.

 

     On this occasion, Consul General Somjai hosted a luncheon and commended the entrepreneurs for their rewarding efforts in starting and developing their line of Thai products for the international market. They also exchanged views on key factors, based on their experiences, that lead to profitable business ventures in New York City. Participating brands included MERGE, Boonlear New York, Techin Underground, and Wannasu.

 

     Prior to this activity, on February 10, Consul General Somjai, along with officials of the Consulate and Team Thailand agencies, was kindly invited by Director Ketsuree to attend the aforementioned Thai Fashion Runway. The event was well-organized and warmly welcomed by a large audience, including buyers, young consumers, and social media influencers. Additionally, the Consulate also offered a taste of Thai snacks and desserts at the event.
