On April 29, 2024, Consul Athikom Daengpun, on behalf of Consul General Somjai Taphaopong, delivered a speech on the occasion of a Thai New Year at the Songkran Celebration hosted by Queens Borough President Donovan Richards, in partnership with the Apicha Community Health Center, OCA-NY, and Thai Community USA-NYC. At the event, participants enjoyed the respectful water-pouring ceremony and beautiful Thai traditional performances. They also witnessed a certificate handover ceremony that recognized individuals and organizations for their unwavering contributions to the communities of Queens. Overall, this celebration demonstrated the solidarity of the Thai American community, affirming its integral role in Queens’ multicultural society.
