On November 2, 2023, Consul General Somjai Taphaopong, together with Consul Athikom Daengpun, attended the opening ceremony of “The World Scholar's Cup: Tournament of Champions 2023” held at Yale University, Connecticut.
The World Scholar's Cup is a series of academic competitions for students from all over the world who compete in regional and global rounds, including the ‘Bangkok Round’, in order to get qualified for the final hosted by Yale University. This year, more than 50 students from 12 schools in Thailand participated in the Tournament.
At the opening ceremony, Consul General Somjai delivered her remarks to congratulate Thai and international students for their commendable determinations, and to admire their roles as junior ambassadors representing their countries in a positive light as well as bonding with friends from different cultures. She also expressed her appreciation towards the World Scholar’s Cup and Yale University for their continual dedication in organizing these meaningful activities.
