On 12 December 2025, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in New York, in collaboration with the Permanent Mission of Thailand to the United Nations in New York and Wat Vajiradhammapateep, New York, organized a Merit-Making Ceremony for the 50th Day Memorial to dedicate royal merit in honor of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother at Wat Vajiradhammapateep, New York.

Miss Somjai Taphaopong, Consul General of Thailand in New York, presided over the ceremony as the lay president. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Watayut Wicharngaitkit, Minister and Deputy Permanent Representative of Thailand to the United Nations, and his spouse; Group Captain Aekthewan Manowong, Defense and Air Attaché, and his spouse; Heads of Team Thailand agencies in New York; officials and staff from the Royal Thai Consulate-General, the Permanent Mission of Thailand to the United Nations, and Team Thailand agencies; as well as members of the Thai community. All participants jointly took part in alms-giving, offering religious requisites and luncheon meals to the monks.
On this occasion, Phra Kittiyanawites, Abbot of Wat Vajiradhammapateep, New York, presided over the monastic rites as the ecclesiastical president, together with a total of seven monks who conducted Buddhist chanting and merit-making to dedicate royal merit.

Following the completion of the monastic ceremony, Miss Somjai Taphaopong delivered a tribute message before the royal portrait of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother and led all participants in observing a moment of silence and lighting candles to solemnly pay homage and express profound gratitude for Her Majesty’s immeasurable benevolence.
