On February 8, 2025, Ms. Somjai Taphaopong, Consul General of Thailand in New York, hosted a dinner reception in honor of Ms. Sunanta Kangvalkulkij, Director-General of the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), and her delegation during their official visit to New York. The visit aimed to engage with Thai entrepreneurs, and importers of Thai products, and discuss strategic initiatives with the Thai Trade Center - New York.

     During the dinner, the Consul General held discussions and exchanged views with the Director-General, Dr. Ketsuree Vijaranakorn - Senior Director of the Thai Trade Center, and the delegation, regarding strategies to promote Thai food, including the ThaiSelect certification scheme, and to support Thai businesses in New York and other states under the Consulate’s jurisdiction. Special emphasis was placed on Thailand’s food industry, which serves as a key soft power in the U.S. market.
