Commemoration of Her Majesty Queen Rambhai Barni of the Seventh Reign
On May 21, 2026, the Royal Thai Consulate General in New York organized a commemorative ceremony in honor of Her Majesty Queen Rambhai Barni, Queen Consort of King Rama VII, on the occasion of the centenary celebration of her royal achievements and contributions. The ceremony, held at the Royal Thai Consulate General building in New York, was presided over by Ms. Somjai Taphaopong, Consul General of Thailand to New York, and attended by civil servants, consular staff, and members of Team Thailand.
During the event, Buddhist monks from Wat Buddha Thai Thavorn Vanaram, Elmhurst, New York and Watpa Srithavorn, Houston, performed a religious chanting ceremony to dedicate merit to the late Queen Consort. The Consul General, alongside civil servants and Team Thailand members, jointly offered food and monastic requisites (Sanghadana) to the monks. Following the religious rites, the Consul-General led the attendees in a moment of silence and paid respects before the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Rambhai Barni, Queen Consort of King Rama VII, to profoundly honor her royal grace and commemorate the 100th anniversary of her historic achievements.
