     On October 9, 2025, Ms. Somjai Taphaopong, Consul General of Thailand in New York, presided over a merit-making ceremony in honor of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great Memorial Day, October 13, 2025, at Wat New York Dhammaram, New York City.
 
     The ceremony included Buddhist chanting, almsgiving, and the presentation of offerings to monks in dedication to His Majesty’s merit. It was followed by a wreath-laying ceremony, which comprised the laying of a wreath in tribute, the reading of a remembrance statement, and a moment of silence before the royal portrait of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, in heartfelt remembrance of His Majesty’s boundless benevolence and everlasting grace.
 
     Officials and staff members of the Royal Thai Consulate-General, along with representatives from Team Thailand in New York, participated in the ceremony with reverence and deep appreciation for His Majesty’s immeasurable kindness and lasting contributions to the nation and people.
