On October 27, 2025, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in New York organized a volunteer activity in honor of King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great Memorial Day (October 13) and King Chulalongkorn The Great Memorial Day (October 23). Ms. Somjai Taphaopong, Consul General of Thailand in New York, together with officials and staff of the Consulate-General and members of Team Thailand in New York, joined in collecting and donating winter clothing and essential supplies to Care for the Homeless, a New York-based nonprofit organization. The donated items will be distributed to people experiencing homelessness and those in need.

Care for the Homeless is a nonprofit organization in New York dedicated to promoting kindness, compassion, and sustainability by providing free clothing, food, and household items to those in need. Guided by its vision of “Making the world a better place, one good deed at a time,” the organization also fosters community collaboration, compassion, and environmental responsibility.

In addition to commemorating the two royal occasions and making merit, the activity served as an opportunity to raise awareness about Thailand, strengthen engagement between the Consulate-General, Team Thailand, and local organizations, and promote the Consulate’s active role in community service and social responsibility for the collective good.
