For the year 2024, the Royal Thai Consulate General in New York, led by Consul General Somjai Taphaopong, together with the Team Thailand agencies in New York City, attended the Royal Kathina Ceremonies held at Usa Buddhayaram Temple (October 26th), Vajiradhammapadip Temple (October 27th), and Buddha Thai Thavornvanaram Temple (November 3rd) in New York, and Nawamintararachutis Temple (November 10th) in Massachusetts respectively. The officials also participated in merit-making ceremonies and food offerings to the monks.

 

     The Royal Kathina Ceremony is to celebrate the robe graciously bestowed by His Majesty the King of Thailand upon (an) individual(s) who at the ceremony will offer it to a monk who has resided at the temple throughout the three-month Buddhist Lent.
