"Thai Fashion Runway at New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2027"

On September 15, 2026, Consul General Somjai Taphaopong, together with Ms. Katesuda Thongna Consul of the Royal Thai Consulate General in New York, attended “One Night in Bangkok,” a fashion runway featuring collections from four Thai brands, organized by the Office of Thai Trade Center, New York, during New York Fashion Week (NYFW) Spring/Summer 2027 at Capital Bowery, New York.

The event, organized with the support of the Department of International Trade Promotion, Ministry of Commerce, showcased four Thai brands - Collector Project, KH Edition, Landmeé,

and Tarmafia. Each brand has its own distinctive style, creative designs, artistic character, while also reflecting an awareness of sustainability. The showcase aimed to create new business opportunities and promote Thai fashion in the U.S. and international markets.

More than 400 buyers, fashion editors and media, influencers, fashion and design professionals, and members of the press attended the event. Following the show, guests were also able to view the collections up close and meet the Thai designers, creating opportunities for Thai brands business networking, while helping raise the visibility of Thai fashion in the U.S. fashion industry.

On September 10, 2026, Consul General Somjai also met with and encouraged the four Thai designers. She expressed her appreciation for their passion and creativity, including their efforts to add value to used materials, as well as the craftsmanship reflected in their work. In particular, the use of Thai silk and Thai handicrafts in contemporary fashion and streetwear shows how Thai designers are bringing Thai identity and cultural heritage into modern fashion for the international market.

The Royal Thai Consulate General in New York congratulates Mr. Thanakrit Luangasanathip, Director of the Office of Thai Trade Center, New York, and his team on the success of the event. It is another meaningful initiative to promote Thailand’s creative industries through Thai fashion and bring Thai designers and brands to greater attention in the U.S. market.
