"Supporting the Southern Thai Association of New York's Fundraising Event"

On 28 June 2026, Mr. Khanthong Nuanual, Deputy Consul General of New York, represented Consul General, accompanied by Ms. Katesuda Thongna, Consul, attended the Thaksin San Ball 2026 charity event at Vajiradhammapadip Temple in Mount Vernon, organized by the Southern Thai Association of New York. Held annually, the event raises scholarship funds for youth in Thailand's 14 southern provinces while bringing together the Thai community in New York.

In his opening remarks, the Deputy Consul General commended the Association for upholding the legacy of "Giving Back to the Motherland," inspired by the late Privy Council president and statesman General Prem Tinsulanonda. He praised the Association for its spirit of unity, generosity, and the enduring commitment of the Thai community abroad to contribute to their homeland.

He also expressed appreciation for the Association's continued support of the Consulate General's work and its role as a "cultural ambassador" in strengthening people-to-people ties between Thailand and the United States.

The event was filled with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, featuring authentic Southern Thai cuisine, and traditional cultural performances. The Deputy Consul General also joined members in singing the Association's song, delighting attendees with his friendly and approachable manner and further reinforcing the close bond between the Consulate-General and the Thai community in New York.
