On 26 February 2026, Ms. Somjai Taphaopong, Consul General of Thailand in New York, together with officials from the Royal Thai Consulate-General, Mr. Joseph Milano, Honorary Consul of Thailand, and Mr. Threeracht Songtachalert, Honorary Vice Consul in Boston, met with Mr. John Boyle, Deputy Superintendent of the Cambridge Police Department. The meeting aimed to strengthen cooperation and close coordination in enhancing the safety and well-being of the Thai community in Cambridge, where a significant number of Thai students reside and study.
Deputy Superintendent Boyle expressed appreciation for the Thai community in contributing to the order and safety of the city. He also reaffirmed the policy of the Cambridge Police Department to focus on public safety and crime prevention.
Following the meeting, Consul General Somjai and the delegation visited King Bhumibol Adulyadej Square and the commemorative monument, located near Harvard Square junction in Cambridge, to observe the current condition of the site and ensure that the surroundings continue to be well maintained with dignity and respect
