On November 21, 2025, the Royal Thai Consulate General in New York presented “Authentic Thai” at the 2025 International Food Festival, hosted annually by the Society of Foreign Consuls in New York (SoFC) at The Turkish House. The event brought together around 200 attendees and featured culinary showcases from 13 foreign consulates and aimed to highlight cultural diversity through cuisine and lively performances.
This year marked the Consulate’s third participation in the event. The Consulate partnered with “Khaosan”, a Thai restaurant certified under the Thai SELECT USA program, to present signature Thai dishes prepared with a healthy concept and visually appealing presentation - Southern-style Grilled Turmeric Shrimp (“Go-Lae”), Fresh Garden Rolls, and Taro Coconut Pudding. These dishes received enthusiastic interest from attendees.
This participation reflects strong collaboration between the Royal Thai Consulate General in New York and the Thai Trade Center in New York. By joining the SoFC’s international event, the Consulate and the Thai Trade Center jointly promote Thai cuisine as a global soft power while supporting Thai restaurants in New York in their role as cultural ambassadors. Their contributions help enhance the visibility of “Thainess” in the international community and strengthen people-to-people ties between Thailand and the United States.
