Royal Thai Consulate General in New York Supports Relations within the ASEAN Community in New York City

     On June 29, 2024, Consul General Somjai Taphaopong, along with officials and staff members from the Royal Thai Consulate General in New York, as well as representatives from the Office of the Military Advisor to the Permanent Mission of Thailand to the United Nations, participated in the ASEAN Bowling Tournament 2024. The event was co-organized by the Consulate General of Malaysia in New York in collaboration with the Consulates General of Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, and the Consulate of Singapore. The aim of the tournament was to strengthen relationships and foster unity within the ASEAN community in the United States, in order to help enhance the status and role of the ASEAN community, gain greater recognition, and leverage the ASEAN community as a significant force advocating for its interests. Additionally, it also promotes people-to-people connections. On this occasion, each ASEAN country showcased variety of dishes for all participants and provided local products as prizes for the winners of the tournament.
 
     Moreover, on June 22, 2024, the Consulates General of ASEAN member countries in New York, including the Royal Thai Consulate General in New York, also joined the activities of ASEAN Family Day, which was held by the Permanent Missions of the 10 ASEAN member states in New York at Vajiradhammadip Temple in Long Island. The Royal Thai Consulate General provided representatives to participate in the games and Thai cuisine as support at the event.
