On October 12, 2023, Consul General Somjai Taphaopong greeted Mr. Peter Longstreth, Chair of the Consular Corps Association of Philadelphia (CCAP) and Honorary Consul of Uruguay in Philadelphia, during his visit to congratulate Consul General Somjai on her assumption of duties in New York. He also took the opportunity to introduce himself and CCAP.

During their meeting, both discussed the roles of CCAP in assisting foreign consular missions with their responsibilities in Philadelphia. Additionally, as raised by Consul General Somjai, they also discussed the preliminary plan of the Royal Thai Consulate General to visit key agencies in Philadelphia and engage in discussions regarding the promotion of the welfare of the Thai community residing in Philadelphia.
