On December 2, 2023, Consul General Somjai Taphaopong, accompanied by Consul Phawinee Chansamran, attended and supported the event "Doing Good by Following the Footsteps of Father in December: Giving Helps at Elmhurst Hospital" organized by the Thai Community USA NYC at Little Thailand Way in New York City, with the aim of encouraging the Thai community to join hands in doing good deeds in celebration of Thailand’s Father's Day by expressing generosity towards the local community through the providing of essential items, gifts, and toys for children at Elmhurst Hospital. During the event, representatives from the hospital appreciatively received the donations. Members from the Royal Thai Consulate General, along with representatives from the Thai community, New York City, New York State, and local agencies, also warmly participated in the event. On this occasion, Consul General Somjai conveyed congratulations and admiration for the love, unity, and resilience demonstrated by the Thai community in this charitable activity.
