On 26 February 2026, Ms. Somjai Taphaopong, Consul General in New York, accompanied by Ms. Katesuda Thongna, Consul, met with Khun Pinyapatch Chanyathunyaroj, Representative of the Nuad Thai and Spa Association of America for the Northeast region, and owner of BAMBAT – Advanced Thai Massage in Boston, Massachusetts. Business partners and Thai massage therapists from the establishment also joined in welcoming the delegation and participating in the discussion.
During the meeting, the association’s representative shared insights on the current landscape of Nuad Thai businesses, consumer demand trends, as well as opportunities and challenges facing the Thai massage profession in the eastern United States.
The Consul General and the association also discussed ways to promote professional skill development for Nuad Thai practitioners within the consular jurisdiction, including the possibility of organizing Thai massage workshop to provide opportunities for entrepreneurs and interested participants. The initiative aims to further strengthen professional standards of Nuad Thai in the region, while expanding cooperation and supporting the association’s work across the eastern United States in a more tangible manner.
Following the discussion, the delegation was given a tour of BAMBAT – Advanced Thai Massage and had the opportunity to meet and exchange views with Thai massage therapists.
