On December 20, 2024, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in New York, in collaboration with Team Thailand agencies in New York—including the Thai Trade Center, the Thailand Board of Investment Office, the Tourism Authority of Thailand, and the Bank of Thailand Representative Office—donated essential items and educational toys to over 7,500 children and youth from asylum-seeking families in New York City. This initiative was part of the Secret Snowflake program organized by NYC Service under the Office of the Mayor of New York City.
On this occasion, Miss Somjai Taphaopong, Consul General of Thailand in New York, led officials and staff in packaging the donated items for delivery to NYC Service for further distribution.
This marks the second year that the Royal Thai Consulate-General and Team Thailand agencies have collaborated with NYC Service on this meaningful project. The initiative reflects the constructive partnership between Thai governmental agencies and New York City’s public offices in undertaking charitable activities.
