On 5 March 2023, Consul Phawinee Chansamran attended the Buddhist ceremony on the occasion of Makha Bucha Day* at Vajiradhammapadip Temple, Long Island, NYC. The ceremony was hosted by the Thai Nurse Association Northeastern of America (TNANA) and participated by the Military Advisor to Permanent Mission of Thailand to the United Nations, Consulate’s staff and a number of Buddhists.

(*Makha Bucha Day is annually held on the full moon day of the third lunar month to commemorate the miraculous incident in the history when 1,250 monks, whom were ordained by the Buddha himself and who had already reached ‘Phra Orahan’ (saint), spontaneously gathered to pay respect to the Buddha. In return, the Buddha took this opportunity to preach the core principles of his teachings to them, which since then have become the core principles of Buddhism up until today.)
