On 20 May 2023, Deputy Consul General Jiraporn Jiranantakij and Consul Athikom Daengpun participated in the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month Recognition Ceremony, organized by Assembly member Steven Raga, at the United Sherpa Association in New York City. Mr. Raga took this opportunity to award the organizations in honor of their contributions towards the APPI communities in New York.

Thai Community USA NYC under the leadership of Mr. Juttana Rimreartwate was one of the awardees for the continuous support for the Thai-American and Asian-American communities, including the initiative for the ‘Open Street’ events to support local businesses and to promote the Thai cultural identity, as well as the prominent role in realizing the street naming of ‘Little Thailand Way’.

On this occasion, Deputy Consul General Jiraporn delivered her congratulatory remarks to all the awardees, particularly the Thai Community USA NYC, for their admirable works, and also expressed her appreciation to Mr. Raga for his great support extended to these organizations and the AAPI communities, especially the Thai community.

At the event, the Anurak Thai Dance Association also joined in promoting Thai cultural performances and received a certificate of merit as well.
