On June 1, 2024, Ms. Somjai Taphaopong, Consul General of Thailand in New York, attended the annual event of the Thai Nurses Association of Northeastern America (TNANA). Members of the association are mostly Thai nurses, both retired and currently working, residing or working in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and other states within the Consulate’s jurisdiction. The association is one of the long-standing and significant professional Thai associations in the United States (New York), gathering for social interaction and contributing to the public interest. The proceeds from the event are donated to hospitals in Thailand.

In this regard, the Consulate-General has supported the association’s activities for public benefit to encourage and boost the morale of this strong association, which plays a part in fostering unity and strength among Thais abroad. The Anurak Thai Dance Association of New York, the Buddhist Sunday School of the Vajiradhammapadip Temple, and the Chuen Chivit Band also presented performances at the event.
