On September 26, 2023, Consul General Somjai Taphaopong and Consul Phawinee Chansamran had a meeting with two executives of the Asia Society in New York City: Dr. Yasufumi Nakamori, the newly appointed Museum Director and Vice President of Arts and Culture, and Mrs. Rachel Cooper, the Director of Performing Arts, Cultural Programs, and Culture as Diplomacy Initiative.

     During the meeting, both sides engaged in a productive exchange of information and views with the aim of enhancing collaboration between the Royal Thai Consulate General and the Asia Society to promote Thai soft power, particularly in the fields of Thai arts, culture, and film, which also complements the role of the Asia Society in fostering a better understanding of Asia within American society.
