On January 17, 2025, Ms. Somjai Taphaopong, Consul General of Thailand in New York, attended a Working Lunch hosted by Ms. Heidi Olufsen, Consul General of Norway in New York. The gathering included female Consuls General in New York from various countries.

 

On this occasion, the Norwegian Consul General invited Ms. Doreen M. Harris, President and CEO of the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), established in 1975, as the Guest of Honor.

 

Ms. Harris, who has been with NYSERDA since 2010 and has served as President and CEO of the organization since April 2021, presented New York State’s energy policies. She discussed the state’s transition towards the Zero Emissions Grid, future challenges and opportunities, as well as the promotion of renewable energy, clean energy economy, and technologies aimed at improving New Yorkers' quality of life and addressing climate change. The attendees also enjoyed the exchange of views on related topics.
