On 10 April 2022, Consul General Fabio Chinda and Mrs. Maneevarong, his spouse, along with the Consulate General’s staff members joined the Thai community in celebrating Songkran Days, or Thai New Year which normally takes place during 13-15 April of every year, at Buddha Thai Thavorn Vanaram Temple in NYC.

Consul General Fabio presided over the merit-making and the food offering to the monks ceremonies, and also took this opportunity to wish all participants a happy Thai new year as well as to join the singing performance on the stage. Mrs. Maneevarong was also invited to crown the new Songkran Beauty Queen of the year.

Despite celebrating on such a chilly day in April, the event was wonderfully warmed up by the loving atmosphere among Thais and local participants.

As the actual Songkran Day is nearing, the Royal Thai Consulate General would also like to wish everyone a happy Thai new year.
