On August 6, 2023, Consul General Somjai Taphaopong, Consul Phawinee Chansamran, and the Royal Thai Consulate General’s staff joined the "2023 Church Picnic", an annual social gathering event of the Chour-Thai Reformed Church of Greater New York. The Church also embraced the opportunity to extend a warm welcome to Consul General Somjai on the occasion of assuming her duties and invited her to address the attendees and participate in activities with the Church fellow members.
