100-Day Memorial Ceremony for Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha

 

     On September 18, 2026, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in New York, in cooperation withWat New York Dhammaram, organized a merit-making ceremony marking the 100th day of the passing of Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati Krom Luang Ratchasarinee Siripatchara Maha Vajra Rajadhida, at Wat New York Dhammaram in New York City. Ms. Somjai Tapapong, Consul-General of Thailand in New York, presided over the ceremony as the lay chairperson, and Phra Khru Vithurdhammaprakas as the monastic chair. Approximately 50 participants attended, including officials and staff of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in New York, representatives of Thailand Team agencies, and members of the Thai community residing in New York City and the states within the consular jurisdiction.

 

     On this occasion, Consul-General lit the candles paying homage to the Triple Gem. Consul-General also delivered a eulogy and led the participants in paying their respects and observing 47 seconds of silence in remembrance of Her Royal Highness. Ten Buddhist monks from Wat Buddha Thai Thavorn Vanaram and Wat New York Dhammaram then chanted Buddhist prayers. The participants subsequently offered robes, religious offerings, and a midday meal to the monks.
